About Tereza:

Hello, my name is Tereza Cerqueira. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and I am a student in the Master of Arts Program in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am currently completing my practicum. I have been volunteering as a crisis responder for Kids Help Phone since August 2022. My role is to help adolescents and adults in crisis via a computer platform by listening attentively and warmly without judgement and brainstorming ideas with people or giving them resources to help them manage their crisis that I learn about via a texting service. The resources are vetted and provided by Kids Help Phone. I possess an Honours BA in Child Studies as well as an Honours BA in Psychology.

I believe that the therapeutic process and experience is unique for every individual, therefore, I will strive to do my best to meet your specific needs as a client. I am here to listen and support you in a genuine, empathetic, and non-judgemental manner. I am open to working from a variety of different therapeutic approaches and hope that we will learn from each other along the way. I want to help you reach your goals and explore and process whatever challenges you may be facing in a safe and welcoming environment. I am open to working with adolescents and adults from all walks of life.
