Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying),
BSc. MACP student
Hi there!
My name is Christine and I’m currently offering therapy under the supervision of Laurie Ponsford-Hill as part of finishing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) degree. Prior to this, I earned my BSc in Psychology and Neuroscience with a minor in biology.
I am passionate for supporting clients with anxiety, perfectionism, and self-esteem concerns. This can include challenges with overwhelming self-criticism, overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling inadequate. I also have experience working with topics such as depression, body image, peer relationships, relationship issues, school/work stress, and ADHD. I recognize the unique challenges of trying to balance the demands of today’s world where nothing ever seems to be “good enough”. In reality, these patterns often develop as understandable responses to pressure, expectations, and lived experiences.
My philosophy emphasizes the process of recognizing intrinsic self-worth and learning to accept oneself regardless of external achievements, appearance, or the opinions of others. I advocate for the importance of establishing work-life balance, setting healthy boundaries with others, and recognizing one’s limits. I aim to create a space where you do not have to perform, prove, or measure up. Instead, I hope to facilitate connection to yourself with greater kindness and understanding. In our work together, we can build practical coping skills, self-compassion, and greater self-acceptance. I typically utilize an integrative approach that combines techniques from CBT, ACT, and CFT. However, I am very open to trying new techniques to best suit your needs.
If this sounds like a good fit, I would be honoured to support you as you work toward creating a more balanced, fulfilling, and authentic life.
