Vera Selitser

Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP), M.Sc. Clinical Pharmacy; B.Sc. Pharm Registered Psychotherapist (RP) Qualifying, Registered Pharmacist (RPh)

Vera comes from an interdisciplinary background, having been trained in counselling psychology and clinical pharmacy. From over a decade of her practicing in hospital mental health, oncology and Long Term settings, Vera has gained expertise in working with patients experiencing mental distress. She also brings with her a career-long teaching experience.

Vera became passionate about teaching upon completion of her graduate studies in Clinical Pharmacy, and had taught clinical pharmacy to undergrad pharmacy students for two years. She has continued teaching in her role as a chemotherapy managing supervisor at a state hospital for three years. Throughout Vera’s 10 years of Long Term Care as a clinical pharmacy consultant, she enjoyed teaching and training pharmacy students and nursing teams.

As her appreciation of the mind-body connection grew, Vera felt the need to get trained in psychotherapy. Having received comprehensive training in a wide spectrum of therapeutic modalities and approaches, strengthened by her passion to continuous learning, Vera now offers a broad and comprehensive view on matters of mental and physical wellbeing.

Vera joined The Counselling House in the late stages of her training in counselling psychology, sharing the passion and attention to the mind-body connection. She specializes in working with individuals in their fertility journey. Vera’s current work with couples and families is based on IFS, the Bowenian approach to family systems, and greatly on EFT.

Vera has gone through two immigrations, has been divorced and remarried, has experienced diverse financial and social situations, and has close understanding of its potential impact on mental and physical health of individuals and families.

Vera is a mother of grown up twins and their little sibling. Cats, fogs and other pets never leave her house. She loves snowboarding, paddle boats, biking, swimming. Vera is fascinated by nature, and by its culmination in the endlessly beautiful, mysterious and powerful human mind.
