Domestic Violence Support & Recovery Program
Creating safety, healing, and empowerment
The Domestic Violence Support Program at The Counselling House offers confidential, trauma-informed counselling for individuals impacted by intimate partner or family violence — whether as a survivor seeking healing or as someone committed to changing harmful patterns of behavior.
Our approach focuses on safety, accountability, and emotional growth. For survivors, therapy offers a space to rebuild confidence, process trauma, and establish healthy boundaries. For individuals seeking to stop violent or controlling behaviors, sessions emphasize emotional awareness, responsibility, and respectful relationship skills.
Counselling integrates trauma therapy, polyvagal techniques, and compassion-focused approaches to support deep, lasting change.
Sessions are offered individually or in program format, available both online and in-person for your safety and convenience.
Who offers it: Dr. Laurie Ponsford-Hill, RSW, RMFT, RCAT, RP
