Sometimes, we can feel disconnected from ourselves.

There are times in life when we feel like we have lost ourselves, when we cannot quite catch our footing, or when we are moving through life in what feels like slow motion. We may know that something does not feel right, but we are not always sure what we need or where to begin.

If you are experiencing this kind of disconnect, I want you to know that you are not alone. Life can bring transitions, challenges, relationships, loss, uncertainty, and experiences that leave us feeling overwhelmed or unsure of ourselves. Sometimes, we simply need a space where we can slow down, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what we are experiencing.

My name is Dayna, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and counselling intern currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I provide counselling under the clinical supervision of Laurie Ponsford-Hill, RP, at The Counselling House, to support ethical, competent, and client-centred care.

My approach
I believe that you are the expert in all things you. My role is not to tell you who you are or what you should do, but to walk alongside you as you explore what matters to you, where you are now, and where you would like to go.

My approach is open-minded, collaborative, and judgment-free. I want counselling to be a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, curious enough to explore, and supported enough to take things at your own pace. Together, we can work toward understanding your experiences, identifying your strengths, and creating a pathway toward the goals that are meaningful to you.

Because no two people are the same, I do not believe counselling should look the same for everyone. I draw from different therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to you, your needs, your goals, and what feels most helpful. Depending on what you are looking for, our work may incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and experiential approaches.

My background in fine art, communications, and creative arts has also shaped the way I see people and their stories. When it feels appropriate, I am open to incorporating creative and experiential ways of exploring thoughts, emotions, identity, and experiences. There is no expectation that you need to be an artist or even “creative.” Sometimes, finding a different way to express or understand what we are experiencing can help us see ourselves from a new perspective.

Most importantly, I want our work together to feel like a place where you can be heard and seen as your whole self.

Let’s connect
I offer counselling in person at The Counselling House locations in London and Port Stanley, as well as through virtual and telephone appointments.

If you are wondering whether counselling might be right for you, or whether we might be a good fit to work together, you can complete the ACT by Donation registration form and enter Dayna Puspoky in the “Intern Specifications” section. From there, we can connect, learn a little more about what you are looking for, and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.

You do not have to have everything figured out before we begin. We can start where you are, and take it from there.

Let’s connect and take the next step together.
